hi,
everyone, wow what a collection there all so good..
why couldn’t SKART put them all in?
what is the basis of your selection criteria. or is it simply a matter of elimination, do you select a certain number because of the space on the hoarding? (why 10?)
im just really interested in this particular format of open submission and how this process is crucial to the overall translation of the works.
Because above we see all the images of the people who submitted but did not get selected for the hoarding, why? (because in some ways you are displaying there work and you are doing so in the virtual space of ‘WordPress’ so if work is displayed (no matter where that is whether private or public virtual or Physical it is still being presented.
I thought that was interesting, the fact that your theme is actually posing questions in my mind about this.. ‘Private TALK – PUBLIC space’ or should it read ‘Talk PRIVATE – SPACE Public’
anyway…
of the work displayed here i particularly liked
MY POSTED SELECTION:
Barry-W-Hughes – ‘Article 43′
Amanda Dunsmore ‘Woman with head in a hole”
Pii Antilla – ‘Be Me’
Gib – ‘Republican’
Leslie Cherry – ‘Painting out the Murals’
Barry Foley – ‘corkland’
Ann Francis – ‘Cinema’
Jody Richardson – ‘Orange Bar’
Lorraine Walsh – ‘Protester’
Aoife Collins – ‘Cork 2′
(why am i picking 10?)
one more thing is it possible to put details up for the artists like links to there sites or a bit more info on there pieces and the idea they have submitted.
anyways… thanks for taking the time to read if you get this far.
